Well, a few things to do today. It's throwing it down with rain outside and freezing cold in here, but I will get myself motivated. We were on holiday last week, so I have a pile of washing the size of one of the Welsh mountains that we climbed to get dried. My new course starts next Monday (home-study creative writing) so I have two huge books to read for that. I haven't done anything yet but sit in front of the computer.

Hope things get better for you, Thumper. Want to talk about anything? I'm here and listening.

I know how hard it is to trust somebody at all, and that's the worst thing that can happen when you've been so brave and taken the plunge, isn't it? But don't blame yourself for not being able to let go: it just seems to be the way that our brains are wired, I think. You can't help what upsets you any more than you can help what colour your eyes are, so please try not to beat yourself up about it (easier said than done, I know). Can you write, draw, paint about it or anything like that to try to get some perspective on it? Sorry if that wasn't helpful. Still listening and giving hugs, so rant away if it will help at all.

Hi Thumper, You are a person - from what I know of you, a great person, and certainly not a freak. Thanks for the good wishes about my course too. read through the stuff and it looks great! Funny thing about giving advice: on another forum that I frequent, someone gave advice, then a little later someone gave her the same advice back - quoting from the original person as the advice was perfect for her situation, but she couldn't apply it to herself, only to others! hope that made sense - I think it lost something in the explanation - like coherence? Do something creative, Thumper and then post it on here so we can admire it. Hope you're doing OK. By the way, Pete, your post made perfect sense to me. You could have been speaking from my head! It's so much easier to trust online - in my experience, people seem so much less judgemental. Perhaps because we sit back and think for a moment before we post as people tend not to do in everyday conversation?

i think we are all able to be so much kinder to others than to ourselves.. we often know what we should do, but would just like to hear the words from someone else.. no matter how guarded we all are, at the heart of it no one really wants to be forced into alone-ness to remain safe.. so glad people are finding support here.. ghost
