it's tuesday.. it's really sad.. you might remember rocky? the little raccoon that visits our back deck? well, he was by last night.. and i was trying to hustle him away since he terrifies the kitties.. and i noticed he has a real bad eye injury now.. his curiosity must've gotten the best of him and he got too close to something? it made me feel so awful. i have a problem with animals getting hurt probably due to the cat situation i dealt with at home as a kid.. i have to say i am more affected with these things than i am with human injuries.. he's a wild creature and would be hell to try to catch or get help for.. but it just doesn't stop bothering me now. i'm adjusting to all the roadkill here that i never ever saw in socal.. raccoons, deer, squirrels, even porcupines.. but an animal suffering is just something i can't bear.. sorry i'm such a crybaby! hope you all are having a better day.. ghost

thanks so much.. i have to say.. i know i have some kind of 'issue' over animals hurt or dying due to my childhood.. it was a veritable pet cemetery in my backyard from animal neglect.. i guess in all those years in therapy i shoulda talked more about it or something.. haha.. 'cause i'm still a basketcase on the subject. i know of many animals surviving eye loss ok.. hope it recovers without infection.. you are right.. at least i am able to take care of these kitties! wow.. it's really getting cold here.. i kinda like it.. ghost

Hi everyone! I'm back at last! Been over to the in-laws for hubby's grandmother's funeral...a wonderful lady and will be missed by a lot of people...but she'd said herself that she was ready. Thanks, Thumper, for asking - I'm not lurking for a change! Been a mad week, but we now have Christmas shopping done, been out for the *aaarrrgghhh* meal with friends - five miles away from home! About the animals: I'm the same. I'm worried about Rocky now too, but Thumper is right - catching him will stress him out even more. We once found a ferret on a footpath near our house - sure he shouldn't have been there - he even 'tasted' hubby's shoe! But with rabbits, I know that it would have been VERY unwise to bring him home. I have so much more regard and love for animals than for humans. I have no idea what will happen when we lose a bunny... it's good to be back! Going to catch up - what's this about a quiz, Pete?! Oooh! Happy Thanksgiving to our Americans! And welcome to sunrisejenni!

Yeah, it is a bit quiet. But you're not talking to yourself, as I'm here! Hope Pete's OK too. I've done three weeks of coursework in two days. I've had to stop for a while now though. Couldn't believe I was three weeks behind! Too much going on - hubby was ill, then we had to go to his Grandma's funeral last week, and work on Sunday morning . But we managed to start and finish the Christmas shopping on Sunday afternoon! Unfortunately, Christmas is no longer cancelled in this house. Since hubby's Grandma, his parents would have spending Christmas alone, so now I'm potentially cooking for ten

Pete, Welcome back! Hope your mum's getting on OK, and hope your daughter has a wonderful birthday. Hi everyone else, and good to hear from you again lyly. O the subject of birthdays, I'm 30 on December 6th - aaargh! We're going to Cardiff for a long weekend to soften the blow. It's weird, because I still feel 17 in my head. Ghost, I would never drink and drive either. Not even one. We're all good really. So good to have everyone back!
