Thumper your taller than me!! I wear high boots (herman monster boots) as everyone calls them, they add quite a few inches onto me. Hi lyly, nice to meet you.

Who knows anything about EMDR therapy? Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This is the method used by the therapist I am planning to see in two weeks. Just beginning to read up on it at emdr.comAny thoughts at all? i thought we talked about it here somewhere on one of the threads but i searched and couldn't find it.. a psychologist did emdr on me briefly back in 1999.. he was trained by shapiro himself (who invented the procedure).. at the time i could find not one negative thing about it when researching it online.. went ahead and tried it.. but it turned out not good with me, i had a very bad reaction.. i used an earphone type emdr where you listen to music and embedded in it are sounds that cause you to neurological reset certain areas that have to due with memory.. it is like a quickfix for post traumatic memory.. problem is, i am the dissociative type.. afterwards i fell into a horrible panicked depression and wouldn't leave my bedroom/hubby for days thinking the psych, and possibly my husband were trying to 'get rid' of me.. (it's like toxic was afraid the exercise was trying to erase her?) it all got mixed up with my memory of my mom trying to hold me under the water as a small child.. you get it? it was very bad. i'm actually still afraid to even think much about it.. i had to make a leap of faith just to get past that black hole. later the psych found out that it is NOT recommended with dissociative types.. and even so it should only be done after a couple years of talk therapy regarding the situations being worked on.. as with so many things, they won't tell you the risks.. but it supposedly does wonders with people who suffer from very traumatic flashback/memory type symptoms.. hope this helps, pete.. ghost

Thanks ghost for the link Oh its mentioned fruit in there, I LOVE grapes and pineapple I wouldnt give those up for the world. I havent heard much about EMDR before, thats really scary stuff ghost, When trying to get inside the mind like that, that can be dangerous territory, I hope your not to traumatised from it. I hope it goes well for you pete, I would ask them about all the risk factors involved though, can they do any kind of test to see if it may have a negative reaction first before they get to deep though?
