I heard about it but didn't feel it...it woke a friend up the road though. Hubby called to tell me that it took place at 1am this morning (UK time) and the epicentre was Market Rasen in Lincolnshire. So because we're only in Yorkshire I guess I really should have heard it! (And no, hubby wasn't the guy in the car!)

glad you two didn't feel it because i know from personal experience a 5. or more earthquake is enough to really set you on edge for a long time waiting for aftershocks, etc.. it was a series of 5. & 6. ones that rendered me phobic of them for life! how weird we were just talking about earthquakes and such.. just posted a new psychcentral newsletter in the info area.. looks like an interesting one on 'existential depression'? gotta go check it out.. also did anyone else hear the news yesterday about the latest research, done in the uk, on antidepressant/ssris? they concluded that drugs like prozac really do not medically do anything for the larger percentage of people, then only with the seriously depressed, and they think it may be more due to their believing the pills will help them than actual benefit! (i knew it!) well, it seems spam spam baked beans and spam is winning!! take care all, ghost

Yep, I read about the antidepressant thing, which probably explains why I don't seem to be getting an effect from them; just from the anti-anxiety pills!
Spam spam baked beans and spam seems like a good choice to me!

i found the tranquilizers to work, but only temporarily.. i've become very cynical about ssris especially.. and whatever latest/greatest big pharma is pushing for profit these days.. lexapro? effexor? i've lost track.. yeah, i'm jaded.

Oh I see Sounded like fun, If only it was that easy! yes leap year is definitely for the ladies, I know its tradition for the female to propose today but I think I would still prefer to be the one who was proposed to, not that I could afford to be choosy about the whole thing, still waiting

You're just too young, dear heart. When I was growing up - the 50's and 60's, Lil Abner was a very popular comic strip. Every four years, Leap Year, was the Sadie Hawkins Day Dance in Dogpatch, USA (somewhere in the sunny south) - when the girls got to chase the boys and ask the boys to marry them. Of course, the girls in the strip were the less than desireable, but then, the boys in the strip weren't anything to write home about either. With a few exceptions - Lil Abner, Daisy Mae, Moonbeam McSwine, and I forget the other names - those got Al Capp's (the creator) talented ability to capture ideal figures. They had hour-glass figures. All done in good taste and fun. i didn't know that.. i thought it just applied to dates and dances, not marriage.. lol! i went to the toy expo today.. we go each year looking for wayward gumbies.. found a couple of little pokeys for the collection, a vintage halloween noisemaker toy and various other old beat up toys!! i found casper & felix comics and some old b&w glossy photos of peter cushing in movies like 'frankenstein must be destroyed' & 'the frozen dead'.. couldn't resist them at a buck a piece! quite a lot of walking though.. but i'm trying to get my spine in shape for hikes in the spring.. i'm a happy ghost today.. (thanks for everyone's support in the self-destruction thread ) ghost p.s. mandy, i really like those, in fact i don't think i have ever seen the munch 'vampire' one?? i'm interested now..
