hi there just curious what people do to self soothe when you're feeling anxious.
It helps me to be in environment where there are soft colors, and gentle energy. At night I like to listen to a CD I have with lullabies and a mother's heartbeat. Sometimes watching zombie movies help me because I feel like zombies and I are on the same wavelength.
I bit non conventional but it does work to a degree when i don't access to the people i'm dependent on.
take care

i guess i'm the outcast.. i love a hot bath.. i need it or my bones never get warm.. guess it's leftover from years of eating disorder induced hypothermia..
i have some old windham hill dvds that are better than prozac for relaxing my brain & nervous system.. autumn portrait, water's path & winter.. beautiful windham hill music along with peaceful places in nature, leaves falling, streams and clouds.. stuff like that..
but yes, we have our 'less than constructive' ways of calming our anxiety too, huh? i'm afraid i si at the worst times.. dissociating the same way i've done since childhood.. ghost

I love hot baths too, ghost. I'm running one now! Sorry - as you know, I SI too at the bad times. But the positive one - LOUD ROCK MUSIC! Live music if possible; the most cathartic positive thing that I know is to jump up and down like a nutter to huge guitars and angry music. It makes me feel more alive than almost anything else.
